Founded nearly two decades ago, the firm began providing professional services in 2007 and has steadily grown from a small operation into a multidisciplinary organization serving a broad range of market sectors.

Built Through Experience
Icon Group’s growth has not followed an easy or linear path. The company began operations during one of the most challenging periods in the construction industry, navigating the economic downturn of 2007 to 2008 and later adapting to the unprecedented disruptions of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Through these challenges, Icon Group remained focused on diversification, adaptability, and responsible leadership. These experiences shaped the firm’s culture and reinforced the importance of resilience, planning, and understanding every aspect of the building process, from engineering design through construction execution.

Johnny Clavijo
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Johnny Clavijo founded Icon Group with a clear vision to deliver dependable engineering and construction management services grounded in integrity and technical excellence. A graduate of Florida International University, Johnny brings decades of experience spanning engineering design, construction management, and the investigation of design and construction failures.
His ability to understand the full lifecycle of a project, from initial design through execution in the field, allows Icon Group to approach complex challenges with clarity and accountability. Under his leadership, the firm has grown steadily while maintaining a strong focus on quality, client trust, and long term value.
Lorena Gonzales
Director of Administration
Lorena Gonzales oversees the administrative and operational functions of Icon Group, ensuring the organization runs efficiently and with precision. She manages internal processes, client coordination, documentation, and day to day business operations that support project execution and regulatory compliance.
Her role is central to maintaining consistency, organization, and responsiveness across the firm. Through her leadership, Icon Group is able to operate with the structure and reliability clients expect from a professional engineering and construction organization.
